  1. I'm the same. Playing as much as you can is the best way to get better (stating the obvious). I started playing 4 months ago. I got 117 on average for my first 2-3 weeks. 4 months later of playing 18 at least twice a week and its now 85-90 every time.

  2. I am struggling to get distance with my clubs. My ball flight is very fluid but usually quite high. My 9 iron will only go between 90-110 usually rounding off about 100. I hit my 5 iron 150 yards. If I try swing faster or move hips faster or try make more club head speed I end up shanking it or hitting the ground before the ball. Any tips for me?

  3. think you're missing the point, lots of middle/high handicap players can hit their best shot well and sometimes far but often not to their target and not consistently. and there is the difference – consistency. and yes I got my handicap down in one year from 15 to 4 and over the past ten years have moved between 2 & 1 and played consistently to that mark, so to drop that far that quick not that unusual especially for a young guy.

  4. no, not really, there,s a good website called golfbidder who have some good clubs at reasonable prices, not cheap, but good standard of clubs generally.

  5. i got nikes vr pro combo irons (forged) for £350 brand new in the sale. . . amazing irons

  6. Mcguirksgolf have TM rocketblades tour and jpx 825 pro irons for about 400 pound new definitely look into that.

  7. Hard to get fitted using online shops. First, have a fitter evaluate your swing, get your measurements. Then find a second hand set you can modify if necessary into those specs.

  8. adams irons are always cheap. check out the online auctions. i got my A4 forged set for 150 used. the faces looked like the previous owner never even touched them.

  9. I agree with David. Take a look at Adams. I recently bought a set of Idea Black CB3s for $245 American and absolutely love them. The Guru doesn't do Adams reviews but direct golf uk has some good ones on you tube. Mine were slightly used but had hardly a scratch on the soles. Look at the CB3s or CMBs they are great affordable irons.

  10. I've got the Adams Idea Black CB3's. Bought them a year a go for £600 aha, love the forged feel!.

  11. I'd go with ping! I picked up a mint condition, still wrapped set of i15's on eBay for £300.

  12. Last year, and with pings dot system for custom fitting I could just buy some made for me straight away 🙂

  13. i got Mizuno mp63's a year ago 399..clubhouse golf a very good online golf retailer..you can get the mp69 blades now.for.the same price at snainton golf they have a youtube channel.they are very good as well.

  14. Hi Phill, I don't think Richardson got down to a 0 hcp , he managed to play ONE round of par golf a year after failing to break 100 . Doing it once is very different to playing to scratch consistantly, I'm sure you'll agree . Cheers, Nige .

  15. As long as you're thorough on eBay you can find great deals just picked up a set of mizuno mp 33 irons std length x100 shafts for 175$ grips were just a bit worn out but faces are great deep grooves and just typical wear

  16. Hi Mark, love your vids. i notice that the clubs you use sometimes have 4 small metal dots on the face. What are they?

    Thanks

  17. I always buy second hand eBay is my friend. I like being able to buy $800.00 sets of clubs for $250.00 in £ I think that like £1200.00 at £320.00 . obviously I don't really know the exchange rate lol
Anyway, yes buy used just make sure you read the description before you buy
