Should you supinate in the golf swing release?

The release is arguably the most important component to a golf swing. In this video, Tyler Ferrell discusses the role of supination, why all golfers do it to some degree, and how to qualify a good vs poor movement. Supination helps keep the arc width widening past the ball which seems to help with a more consistent flat spot. This is much more important for a longer club swing than it is for a short iron swing.

  1. Hi Tyler, my coach says pros nowadays look to have the clubface going through impact squarer for longer. This gives almost an underhand feeling in right hand post impact. Tiger and Rory’s iron swings follow through these days look like there’s much less roll or is it slower roll? Does your data and your experience go along with this? What does/should the right hand do?
